Who We Are
About
Bay Area Women Coalition The Bay Area Women Coalition was founded by a small group of women in Mobile who recognized unmet needs within their neighborhoods and were determined to make a difference. What began as informal acts of service—providing meals to families, visiting isolated seniors, mentoring young girls, and supporting neighbors in need—grew into a structured organization with a clear and meaningful mission: to serve every corner of our community with compassion, consistency, and purpose. Our purpose is to advance community equity through partnerships, advocacy, and grassroots leadership. Through our network of Community Ambassadors, Street Coordinators, and Block Captains, we empower residents to identify the needs within their neighborhoods and lead efforts that bring resources, education, support, and opportunity to the areas that need them most. We believe meaningful change starts at the neighborhood level. By bringing residents, community organizations, and local partners together, we work to create stronger, safer, and more connected communities throughout Mobile and the surrounding areas. Community Programs & Initiatives Throughout the year, the Bay Area Women Coalition hosts workshops, events, and community projects designed to educate, empower, and strengthen our neighborhoods, including: -Rain Barrel Installation & Environmental Education -Tarp Installation & Emergency Preparedness Workshops -Expungement & Critical Records Assistance -Stop the Bleed Training -Neighborhood Emergency Response Team (NERT) Initiatives -Street Coordinator & Block Captain Programs -Community Outreach & Resource Events -Youth Mentoring & Leadership Development -Senior Outreach and Support -Annual Mob Festival -And many other community-focused programs and initiatives Annual Fundraiser Our primary annual fundraiser is the Trinity Gardens Parade #2, which helps support our ongoing programs, community projects, and outreach efforts throughout the year. Together, we are building stronger neighborhoods, creating greater opportunities, and making a lasting impact—one community at a time.
